Meet Our Therapists and Family Coaches

Lauren Bushnell

Lauren Bushnell joined the counseling team in May 2026. Through her commitment to community-based care, she brings an understanding of the social factors that shape access, opportunity, relationships, and overall well-being. She values creating a safe, respectful, and affirming counseling space for clients of diverse identities, cultures, backgrounds, and lived experiences. Lauren provides support to individuals navigating loss and grief, identity development, life transitions, relationship challenges, stress management, and self-esteem.

Lauren’s counseling approach is grounded in integrative, trauma-informed care, drawing on Strengths-Based Therapy, Family Systems Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy. In both individual and group counseling, she helps clients build coping skills, strengthen relationships, recognize personal resilience, and move toward healing and growth.

She is pursuing her master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Wake Forest University. Through her work in foster care, Lauren has supported adults, children, and families involved with the foster care system, DSS, and the court system. Through more than ten years of experience as an EMT, Lauren learned the importance of meeting people with calm, compassion, and care during moments of crisis, vulnerability, and uncertainty.
