Family Services Foundation

With a strong foundation, we can reach our full potential.

Since its inspired founding in 1905, Family Services has steadfastly addressed the social and economic disparities faced by children and families across Forsyth County, North Carolina. By marshaling volunteers and other community resources, Family Services has provided education, training and support that help families achieve financial stability and emotional independence, in addition to immediate needs for safety and shelter.

Today Family Services provides child development programs to prepare young children to succeed in school and life and also offers specialized professional services that deal with interpersonal violence, conflicts in family relationships, and emotional health.

Family Services acquires its income from local, state and federal government, via philanthropy (Individuals, corporations, foundations), and from fees for service.

Family Services, Inc. organized and created in 2021 under NC law a Type I Foundation, “Family Services Foundation” and is a registered IRS public charity. Specifically, the Foundation is classified as a supporting organization and entity, organized and operated exclusively to support Family Services, Inc. The EIN Assigned number is 87-2798936 and the Foundation’s legal name is Family Services Foundation Inc. The Articles of Incorporation were filed on July 31, 2021 with the state of North Carolina.

The Foundation board of directors meets four times yearly in the KBR Room at 1200 South Broad Street

Within the next 10 years, the Foundation intends to raise $10 million in endowment funds.

The Foundation will recognize those loyal and committed donors who create or participate in an outright endowment for Family Services or who designate a charitable gift through a bequest or planned gift to the Agency.

Planned Giving

Making a planned gift is a wonderful way to show your support and appreciation for Family Services and its mission while accommodating your own personal, financial, estate-planning, and philanthropic goals.

We recommend that you familiarize yourself with various gift options by exploring How to Give and What to Give. Then compare gift options and/or calculate how these gifts could work for you. And of course, please contact us for assistance or to discuss your personal situation and objectives.
