She is pursuing her master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Wake Forest University and completed her BA in Human Service Management from University of Phoenix in 2009. Working as a direct care professional and qualified professional for over 15 years, Laura gained experience working with adults and children with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) across a variety of settings. Sites she has worked in include in-home care, day programs, and residential care. Laura’s hope is to develop strategies and solutions by working collaboratively with the client to find hope and peace through the healing process counseling provides.  She spends her spare time thrift shopping, loving on her family of five and three bonus kids, and has been married to her partner for 13 years.
