Our school readiness approach focuses on the development of young minds during the first five years, when a child’s brain is rapidly forming. We reinforce this approach by engaging parents and families in their child’s development and learning.
Our school readiness goals are aligned with the North Carolina Early Learning Guidelines and the local school system. We use the evidence-based Creative Curriculum and Teaching Strategies GOLD—a valid and reliable ongoing assessment instrument—to guide our teaching methods. Our Pre-K services are aligned with the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County School’s calendar, and services are provided year-round.

Family Services is excited to announce new enrollment openings in our Private Childcare Classrooms at The Intergenerational Center for Arts and Wellness, Winston-Salem State University, and Washington Park.
These state-of-the-art facilities are convenient for families in the Winston-Salem area as well as for parents working in downtown Winston-Salem or at nearby colleges, universities, and medical facilities.
