Meet Our Therapists

Emily Wilson

Emily is a licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor working within the general Counseling Unit and with the Children’s Advocacy Center. Emily works primarily with young children and adolescents, specifically those whose lives have been disrupted by trauma. Relationships have a significant impact on a child’s wellness, which is why her focus in treatment is fostering strong bonds within the family system, using emotion-focused, mindfulness, and attachment-based theories. Emily has experience working with anxiety, depression, grief/loss, trauma, and other stress-related disorders.

Emily has always been drawn to the way children use play to communicate and explore. She enjoys incorporating play into treatment as a way to bridge communication between parents and child and believes it is through relationships that healing occurs. With her support, clients will have the opportunity to repair relational frameworks and see relationships as a path toward healing.

Emily holds a Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling from Oklahoma State University and a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Oklahoma. She is trained in the Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics (NMT) and Child-Parent Psychotherapy (CPP).
