J. Nelson-Weaver joined our staff in 2021 as the agency’s Clinical and Community Services Director. As a member of senior management, J. has overall administrative responsibility for the agency’s behavioral health and interpersonal violence programs. J. worked for Family Services in 2019-20 as the Planning Coordinator for the Family Justice Center, during which she organized and guided a collaborative planning process that led to the establishment of the Bridges to Hope Family Justice Center of Forsyth County.

She has more than 25 years of experience in health, non-profit, community, and philanthropic settings, and has worked in and around Forsyth County for all but a few of those years. She has a Doctorate in Public Health and a Master of Arts in Cultural Anthropology from the University of South Carolina. J. brings a wealth of experience in program management, leading diverse teams, forming partnerships and building relationships, and program evaluation. Her knowledge and experience helps Family Services meet challenges and create opportunities to provide and expand our programs in an environment that increasingly requires collaboration, service integration, and the ability to demonstrate outcomes.
