Esther Espeland

Esther Espeland (she/they) is a Counseling Intern from Wake Forest University. Esther works with adult and adolescent clients navigating anxiety, depression, relationship stress, grief, and identity exploration. Esther operates from client-centered, trauma-informed, and harm-reduction frameworks to meet people where they are. Coming from a background in LGBTQ+ healthcare, Esther loves to support trans and gender non-conforming clients and people of diverse sexualities and relationship styles. Esther brings warmth and non-judgment to the therapeutic relationship and serves as a sounding board and collaborator to help facilitate the changes clients are ready to make.

Esther is in their second year of the Master’s of Counseling program at Wake Forest University. She has a Bachelor’s degree from Oberlin College.
