Alfred C. Renna, the retiring president and CEO of Family Services, cited as one of his proudest achievements a program he instituted called Ways to Work®. The program allows young mothers who are struggling with their transportation needs and cannot get credit to buy a car. The loan is obtained through a bank, but Family Services guarantees it.
For the last 41 years, 17 of those with Family Services, Renna has led a meaningful life working in the nonprofit field. On Jan. 1, Renna, 65, officially stepped down and into the much less demanding arena of retirement.
