On Saturday morning, August 25, Family Services will wake up with the community to create more opportunities that will help our neighbors thrive.
We are only $7,400 away from reaching our goal of $30,000 to expand programs and services that are working to help children and families reach their full potential.
When a community comes together, great things happen.
That’s why Family Services is inviting the community to exercise its collective donation super power by WAKING UP TO GIVE in a single day of giving.
It’s amazing how much people can accomplish when join efforts for a common cause. And every meaningful donation will make a difference. Here are a few examples:
One day of nutritious meals for an entire classroom
Comprehensive health services screenings for a child’s dental, vision, speech and hearing needs
-A weekly supply of diapers and wipes for one Early Head Start child
-Assistance with utilities, medication costs, or a co-pay
Enables a child to buy a pair of glasses
-A helmet for safe bike riding
-Transportation assistance (or vouchers) for a family in crisis
-Or a Child’s coat
A clean pair of clothes to wear to school
-Breakfast and lunch in a single day for one child
-A Parent Handbook filled with resources and encouragement to help parents continue at home what their child learns at school
More than 250 people have registered to participate in the third annual Wake-Up Walk & 5k at Bailey Park from 8am to 11am, with a one-mile fun run/walk that begins at 8:30am, and a timed 5k race starting at 9am. And many more volunteers and friends will come out for the Saturday morning party in the park. A Kids Zone will include an inflatable obstacle course for all ages, food trucks, vendors, and more.
Not only is it going to be a beautiful day and a fun time, but all proceeds are going to help our most vulnerable children in Forsyth County to have a great start in life.
