Worried about the process and costs of adopting a child?

We work closely with adoptive parents to minimize your anxiety, help you meet all the requirements and make you aware of available financial resources.

Family Services’ goal is simple: to help children find “forever families” and to provide lifelong support to all who are touched by adoption.

Whether you adopt an infant or older child or choose a domestic or international adoption, you will be required to complete a Home Study (PDF), known as a Pre-placement Assessment in North Carolina. Our experienced, knowledgeable staff will guide you through the Home Study and pre-adoption educational requirements, which vary depending on the type of adoption you choose.

Affording your Adoption

Adoption can be a costly process however there are many resources, from grant and loan programs to federal income tax credits, to help make this process possible for families. Adoption fees are based on a family’s income and vary with the type of adoption you are considering.
